Archbishop's Easter Message

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Risen Lord,

Easter gives us a new perspective in life: all the baptised can no longer live for themselves, but for Jesus and for others. We are called to live our Baptismal commitment without compromise. We are called to be light and salt wherever the Lord in His Providence has placed us.  That means, we have to meet Jesus the Risen Lord in all situations of life and make our life and that of others  "something beautiful for God".  A  desire to be compassionate, kind, forgiving, joyful, holy and  generous like Jesus,  expressed in small deeds of everyday for others, is a sure sign of Jesus' active presence in one's life.  All of us - priests, religious, ordinary Catholics, young people, children - have ample opportunities to live and witness to  the presence of  Jesus. May the light of the Risen Lord be radiated by us, His followers wherever we are.

I wish Archbishops Emeriti Henry and Lucas, all the priests, religious, lay faithful  and friends & well wishers  of the Archdiocese of Calcutta A HAPPY EASTER! ALLELUIA!!
