The freshness of the New Year 2015 is still around us. I wish you a HAPPY and PEACE-FILLED NEW YEAR. May this year be a time of healing of broken relationships if any - with God, with others and even with self. May families experience unity and love. May the Consecrated Persons, especially in the Archdiocese of Calcutta, experience a new vigour and spiritual strength to be Totus Tuus (=Entirely Yours) in the service of God and people.
On 3rd January 2015, I had the privilege of ordaining Br. Tileswar Nayak SSCC and Br. Sujoy Sardar SSCC as Deacons at Sacred Hearts Seminary, Dangadighila, Kharda. Both belong to the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, of which St. Damien of Molokai was a member. Congratulations to the new Deacons.
On the Solemnity of the Epiphany, I had the joy of presiding over the Holy Eucharist at Anjali, the Novitiate of the Apostolic Carmel (AC) Sisters at Barrackpore. During this Holy Mass, 7 (seven) novices received their religious habit and made their First Profession in the presence of Sr. Mirabelle AC, provincial of Calcutta Province, 12 priests, many Sisters, parents and relatives. The two-hour liturgy was truly a divine experience for all present. The choir was excellent. Congratulations to the newly professed Sisters.
In this YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE, let us pray for more vocations to the Consecrated life.
